A whole mount preparation of pepper fruit exocarp (Capsicum peel W.M.) stained with Fast Green, showing a uniform epidermal sheet composed of tightly interlocked polygonal parenchymatous epidermal cells. Distinct cell walls form a contiguous mosaic across the tissue layer, highlighted by counterstain absorption. Embedded chromoplasts and vacuolar inclusions characteristic of pepper pericarp tissue contribute to cellular mass, while occasional stomatal complexes and guard cells are integrated within the epidermal layer to assist in Gas exchange regulation before harvest.
